Itching for an easy way to access Windows apps on your XR headset? Youre in luck. At Ignite 2024 , Microsoft announced new support for Windows on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S devices, designed to boost immersive collaboration and productive experiences for teams. Notably, users have been able to access Windows apps on the Meta Quest 3 before now (more on that in a moment).

VR’s favorite combat sim Blade & Sorcery (2024) may have wrapped up development with its big 1.0 release in June, but creator Warpfrog says it’s already on to its next title, which will be just as “highly moddable” as its breakout physics combat game. Details are still thin on the ground, however the studio tells Road to VR its next title is indeed a VR game, and will have the “familiar hallmarks of Warpfrog games,” which include physics-based interactions

Some Meta headset owners who pulled out Quests they haven't used in a while have reportedly been left with bricks in their hands after a failed software update. Reports across Reddit and Meta's own forums suggest some older headsets which haven't been updated in a while are bricking after its users are told to update the headset to the latest firmware.

Its easy to write the Apple Vision Pro off as being dead in the water at this point. After all, the evidence is mounting that Apple is going to discontinue the spatial computing device in the future. But that doesnt mean Apples XR journey is over as evidenced by Apple Immersive Video. Sure, immersive video doesnt sound as exciting as a brand-new mixed reality headset, or a pair of augmented reality glasses but it does have potential.

Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable launched into Early Access on Quest back in July, offering up a single mission (‘chapter’) and a few unlockable blades, releasing the first drip of content which was promised to expand in the following months. Now, developer UNIVRS has released the ‘Complete Edition’, which now includes four chapters.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and COLD VR is as close as you can get. A game where time slows to a crawl while you slash and shoot crystallized foes sounds remarkably similar to Superhot VRs premise, and you'd be right for thinking so. However, COLD VR does things a little differently. Unlike Superhots time slows when you stop mechanic, COLD VR is the reverse : time slows when you move.

However, what these glasses will be able to do will depend on another, less-talked-about Meta initiative: Project Aria. Initially announced in September 2020, Project Aria hasnt received nearly as much attention as other Meta projects, like the latest Quest headsets and Meta AI solutions.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has partnered with Chitkara University, located near Chandigarh, to create an innovative virtual reality (VR) training system designed to instruct newly inducted Agniveers in aircraft refuelling procedures.
