Some days ago I had a chat with my friend Eloi Gerard , the CEO of CrowsNest XR , about Anna, the virtual concierge assistant he is launching. I found it a very interesting project, so let me tell to you about it! CrowsNest XR is a startup in Shanghai and when Covid hit China the previous Winter, Eloi decided to fly to Thailand to avoid the imminent lockdown and do some business development abroad.

Privacy in VR is an ever growing issue, especially now that all new Oculus accounts must login to Facebook with their real identity, which includes anyone who wants to use a Quest 2. Now researchers at Stanford University have shown they’re able to reliably identify individuals after only a five minute session in a standard consumer VR headset.

Oppo, the China-based smartphone manufacturer, held its second annual Inno Day in Shenzhen, China today, showing off a new version of its concept AR glasses. Called Oppo AR Glass 2021, the company’s latest augmented reality hardware boasts a new ‘split’ design, something that makes it both more compact and lighter than the previous HoloLens-style model, which made its debut at last year’s Inno Day.

To avoid awkward and sometimes disastrous learning content, instructional designers must use authentic translation in the right context to get optimal results.
