In February Facebook has canceled its annual F8 developer conference citing concerns over coronavirus, meanwhile, Google has canceled I/O 2020 , its largest in-person event, due to similar fears. This night I woke up at 3am to participate in HTC Vive’s event on ENGAGE because I read that it was an “HTC VIVE LAUNCH EVENT” and I was super-confident in the launch of the Cosmos XR or at least of the Cosmos Play. Some of these key players, like ENGAGE, are companies in which HTC already invests into.

After endless teasings and leaks, in the end, HTC has finally unveiled its headset: called Vive Flow, it is a lightweight device for media consumption. Varjo is organizing an event for October, 21th in which it will be announcing a new device.

HTC to reveal its headset at CES. After many weeks of teasing, HTC is finally ready to unveil its new headset at CES. I expect the usual HTC headset, with technical innovations, but a price that doesn’t make it compelling for users. Samsung’s 2023 Unpacked event was all about the company’s Galaxy S23 hardware, although at the end of its hour-long presentation the South Korean tech giant announced it was working with Qualcomm and Google to develop an XR device. Like seemingly all big tech firms these days, it appears to be working on AR glasses.
