Half-Life 2: VR , a revamped version of an older mod which will adapt the beloved Half-Life 2 for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, has been green-lit, signifying Valve’s official acceptance of the mod for distribution on Steam. Here’s some gameplay from the original mod played on the Rift DK1.
The most infamous example is of course, the legendary 3DHead system. The Razer-fronted Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) platform was announced along with its very first flagship hardware, the Hacker Developer Kit (HDK for short). The HTC Vive (DK1), SteamVR Controllers and Laser Basestations.
About a year and a half ago, Intel invested in Razer bringing the valuation of the said company to north of $1 billion. Today, Razer is bringing Hacker Development Kit 2.0 Intel claims to bring room scale VR and “global VR” without the need for external sensors such as HTC’s Lighthouse or Oculus Constellation.
Of those 800, all of them support the HTC Vive officially, whereas only 180 support the Oculus Rift. Of those, not all of them are optimized for Touch, but rather may be optimized for the Razer Hydra, or another third-party peripheral. Another example is with Onward , a military simulation shooter.
Created by Sensics and Razer, OSVR includes two independent components: 1) the OSVR software platform and 2) the open-source Hacker Development Kit VR headset. In the above example, these devices would be products from Leap Motion, NOD, YEI and Softkinetic. All these devices would expose gestures to the app in a standardized way.

So HTC has given us some Vive Focus and we love them, because being untethered is a huge important part of having audience come in and not feeling like it’s a hassle, but really having this like ritualistic atmospheric experience without breaking that sense of immersion. We’re speaking with Razer as well. Alan: So cool.

from Razer. The result was somewhat disappointing, so Razer assisted to show me their latest model. Razer helped me out of that illusion. For example, you can use the Oculus Rift sensor instead of the OSVR sensor. Razer has chosen a dual lens system. Razer want the user and the developer to be free in their choice.
The house, city, and ground in the first shot, for example, were all made in blocks, while the mountains, trees, and city lights were painted in Tilt. I also had to work while on other business trips, and so I did most of the final processing on my Razer laptop.
