So, you know where people are looking; you can really get an incredible amount of data back from the headsets, as well as deliver the content to the viewer.
One big exception is MagicLeap , that has gone with its own route. It features two internal cameras, one for each eye to support eyetracking. It also includes four external cameras, two RGB cameras for MR experiences and two for headtracking which can also be used to generate accurate depth maps.
They also support hand tracking and head-tracking, spatial anchors, and depth sensors. The Meta Orion glasses even feature a custom eye-tracking system, so you can navigate through content with your eyes. A common example here is the XReal Air 2 Ultra specs, released this year. depending on your perspective.
