NextVR, the VR livestreaming event app, is now available on Oculus Quest for free, which is said to come alongside a new technology that promises clearer and sharper video rendering. Previously, NextVR content was only available on Quest via the Oculus Venues app, which provides communal viewing of select real-time live events.
The program remains in its trial phase with an end goal of determining whether the idea of a VR experience, similar to that of the Netflix VR app or Oculus Venues , would resonate with airline passengers.
Available through both Oculus Store , Steam , and Viveport for PCVR headsets, the experience has received mixed reviews, but if you look closely at the comments, most of the negative feedback revolves around the fact that the experience is incredibly short – 14 minutes from start to finish and that includes the credits.
