The trip to Finland left me with a bad cough, but especially with many sweet memories of the experiences I had there and the amazing people I spent my time with. As a Unity developer (also knowledgeable of VRChat), I’m not surprised at all, honestly. I’m back in Turin, Italy! And that I also visited a chocolate factory?
And talking about “cool” things (pun intended), today I’m traveling to Helsinki, Finland, where I hope to have a great time at MatchXR. These technologies are so important and have so much business potential (see the success of OpenAI services) that companies can not stop pursuing them because there is too much money at stake.
I am standing in a virtual living room rendered via Unity. Varjo is a startup of 19 employees that is only 10 months old based in Helsinki, Finland. My experience in that Unity-based living room and other demos, using what Varjo is calling the “20/20” prototype, shows that they are working in the right direction.

We invite all industry technology providers and stakeholders to join us in this meaningful program.”. Graz University of Technology, Austria. image courtesy VR First.
More info A Universal Unity VR injector may be in the works, or maybe not Raicuparta has just added an old simple Universal Unity VR Mod tool to its Rai Pal tool. If all the existing flatscreen Unity games could become VR-compatible, that would be huge. But for now, we are not sure at all this is going to happen.

With the two companies working together, the Helsinki, Finland-based extended reality (XR) firm will leverage NVIDIA’s industry-leading technologies to support applications with photorealistic, real-time ray-tracing. The news comes after Varjo secured $40 million in funding to build industrial metaverse technologies.
Yuka Kojima, co-founder and CEO at FOVE says “We believe that eye-tracking capability is the next big milestone in the VR industry and we’re excited to be at the forefront of that technology.” FOVE however is all about the eye-tracking, and with its 120fps infrared eye-tracking system, it proves to be extremely accurate.
3D character creation technology platform Didimo announced on Wednesday that AVALON and Colossal Order have joined its Popul8 partnership network. Additionally, Colossal Order, a Finland-based gaming development studio, has created best-selling titles like Cities: Skylines.
The report surveyed respondents from September last year to June to discuss findings across some of the world’s top firms, including UnityTechnologies, HTC, manufacturers such as Jaguar Land Rover, and media firm Yahoo, among many others. What’s the Deal on Data?

I’ve traveled really a lot, visiting countries like Italy (my country), China, the USA, Finland, England, Germany, and the Czech Republic, to name a few. For instance, this year, on my last trip to Finland, I was also able to visit a bit of the Lapland, see a reindeer farm, speak with the people there, and learn how life is for them.
And while Unreal Engine already supports OpenXR, Unity is a bit lagging, but support is coming in 2021. Santa Claus comes from Finland, and every Christmas many tourists go there to visit his home. This is something like a watershed moment that shows that OpenXR is a standard that is here to stay and won’t be useless like VirtualLink.
Virtual reality is one of the technologies with the greatest potential that spans across different fields such as training, education and medicine, among others. In recent years, the application of this technology in cultural knowledge has been on the rise. Build your first HoloLens 2 Application with Unity and MRTK 2.3.0
This weekend I’ve also organized together with SIDI a big VR workshop on new technologies (XR, AI, neural links, etc…). StageCraft is a new technology for shooting films. I’ve already talked about StageCraft some months ago, but now it seems that this technology is becoming more popular, so it’s time to mention it again.
Acer hasn’t announced the reason why it has taken this decision, but it has commented the news reassuring everyone that Acer is not abandoning XR, and it will continue exploring the technology. And if you need one expert, for a consultancy… you know where to find me. (Thanks VR First for spotting this report!).
It’s also a platform for people who may have heard about XR technology before but have no idea how to integrate this technology into their specific industries. Besides that, we’ll also have the leading eye-tracking technology company like, 7Invensun. I’m a Unity developer. Tony: That’s pretty cool.
