Like Google Cardboard before it, the Labo VR Kit for Switch is effectively a drop-in holder for the console, with lenses which each see one half of the screen for a stereoscopic view. I expected a lot of AR/VR news from there, like the announcement of the price of the Vive Pro or the release of the Oculus Go by Xiaomi and Facebook… but actually I’ve been disappointed by everyone. This new technology standard reduces a lot the latency of communication and increments a lot of its speed.
Today, Jaunt has applications on just about every consumer VR platform including the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream. The only notable exception to Jaunt’s availability on the various hardware platforms was Sony’s PlayStation VR headset. As of today, however, that exception no longer applies.
