They sold this money machine to focus on a technology that is currently not making any relevant money. The approach chosen by Meta is similar to the one that Google promised to take with Android XR. This will let Google enrich its content library pretty fast. Its a big bet on the bright future of XR.

Magic Leap has factories in the US and Mexico able to produce AR glasses. The problem is that constructing the digital twin of a real person is very difficult because the body is a complex machine we still don’t know entirely well. The partnership may revolve around two main points: Manufacturing capabilities.

VR just passed the thorough of disillusionment and is here to stay thanks to investments in the AR/VR market by Facebook, Google and Apple. The Void parks provide physical feedback with physical walls built, special effects made with fans, mist machines, and heat lamps, as well as prop guns and torches and other items to be used.

As such, there’s a lot that other organizations – retailers and otherwise – can learn from Walmart. For example, a customer can say, “Hey Google, please add a dozen eggs to my cart,” and the system will understand the request, identify the customer’s preferred brand from previous purchases, and add the item. Pretty cool, huh?
