Street View Comes To Google Earth VR

The new update brings Street View imagery from 85 countries. Last year Google launched a VR version of Google Earth , letting you visit locations around the world in 3D. Some of my first visits with the new update included dropping in on a couple featured locations like the Colosseum in Rome and the busy streets of New York.

RIP: Google Has Abandoned Its Daydream VR Platform

RIP Google Daydream (November 2016 – October 2019). Sad news out of New York this morning as Google confirms it has discontinued the production of its Daydream View VR headset and will not be providing VR support for its upcoming Pixel 4, effectively killing the Daydream platform in the process.

IMAX Shutters VR Experience Centre in New York, No New VR Investment in 2019

Now, the company has shut down their last remaining New York location, and has said they won’t be investing any more into VR during 2019. As reported by Variety , IMAX says the closure at AMC Kips Bay in New York comes as the conclusion of a pilot test. Only four centres remain: Toronto, LA, Bangkok and Manchester.
