After demoing it myself, I also got my seven-year-old niece try it, and even though by now she’s a bit of a VR veteran (using your family members as guinea pigs is standard practice in my household), the experience still had her shouting out in excitement, and – most tellingly – incorporating space exploration themes into her play afterward.

A popular horror title on Gear VR, the latest instalment of the Affected franchise will be coming to Oculus Rift with Touch motion controller support in February, according to developers Fallen Planet. The original title appeared with Oculus Rift DK1 support back in the day, with support for DK2 coming later.

We’d just seen the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive get wide releases, and Gear VR was seeing strong usage thanks in part to Samsung bundling the headset with new phones. Witness Walmart, which bought 17,000 Oculus Gos to train associates using VR. Oculus Quest will have a significant impact in 2019, just like Oculus Go had in 2018.
