Razer, the popular peripheral company, today announced the free release of the Interhaptics haptic authoring tool which is designed to make it faster and easier for developers to create compelling haptic effects for multiple haptic devices. Razer acquired haptic software tool company Interhaptics earlier this year.
This year we saw a ridiculous-looking haptic suit complete with 1,333,337 integrated haptic sensors, from computer peripheral manufacturer Razer to a gorgeous VR role-playing game from developer SmileGate.
Meta has partnered with Razer to deliver high-performance audio experiences to users who want more privacy in VR landscapes. Haptic Gloves and Suits Though the hype around haptic technologies has dwindled in recent years, innovators are beginning to recognize the benefits of full haptic feedback.
Razer just released another headset with haptic feedback. Although the tech still isn't there yet, it has the potential to become a mainstay in gaming headsets.
Tactical Haptics , a company pioneering a novel form of haptic feedback which can create compelling sensations that go far beyond rumble, announced today it has raised $2.2 million to create a development kit of a haptic VR controller as a stepping stone to an eventual consumer product.
The company also paired with Razer to create the “Hammerhead Hyperspeed buds” specifically for the Quest 3. These Meta Quest 3 accessories come with more realistic sensations via TruTouch haptics, more intuitive fine motor controls (such as precision pinch motion), and a stylus tip for writing.
Razer opens pre-orders for OSVR HDK 2 virtual reality headset Today, Razer announced that it is opening up pre-orders for the company’s second OSVR development kit, called the HDK 2. What is intriguing is the fact that some rumors talk about the use of “haptic audio”, so it is possible that this technology will be included inside this headset.
