Google has revealed Android XR and it’s basically what the name implies: a full-blown version of Android that’s been adapted to run on XR headsets, supports the entire existing library of flat Android apps, and opens the door to “spatialized” versions of those apps, as well as completely immersive VR content.
This week, unity, a leading XR and RT3D content creation engine, unveiled a new partnership with 3D content streaming experts Vagon. The partnership will leverage Vagon’s AR/VR/MR streaming advancements to boost accessibility for XR immersive experiences and applications, covering a broad range of end devices.
Veteran enterprise VR studio VRMADA has released a public version of its VR toolset for quickly building immersive interactions for VR within Unity. The problem, however, is that building rich interactions in VR (ie: interacting naturally and enjoyably with objects in the virtualworld) is a painstaking process.

NVIDIA is offering early access to a version of Unity with the company’s VRWorks features integrated into the engine for enhanced VR performance. At GDC 2016, Unity announced they would be adding support for VRWorks , Nvidia’s SDK for optimisation of VR using the company’s GPUs. Developers can apply for early access here.
