The Basics Project Aria, introduced by Meta in 2020 , is a research project created to help Meta develop its first set of wearable augmented reality devices. On a broad scale, it was the first evidence that Meta wasnt just interested in creating virtual reality headsets or software like Horizon Worlds.

Project Aria had no display, but it had many sensors (in particular, cameras and microphones), and it was meant to be worn just by people from Meta or from Meta’s close partners so as to learn their behavior. The projects range from accessibility to driving and skills learning. Participating is free, so you should try joining it!
