They should guarantee better tracking both for the headset and the controllers; The controllers are smaller and seem a mix between the Oculus Touch and the WMR 1 controllers. I don’t see this device stealing the scene from Oculus, since Oculus is cheaper, but I’m quite sure this new headset will be able to grab a good market share.

The shape of the controllers is slightly different than the one of the Oculus Touch, though, and there is a ring that surrounds the wrist of the user. There is also “finger-tracking” a la Valve Index , but just for the thumb, index, and middle finger (so, it is more a la Oculus Touch). Image by Microsoft).

Oculus Go launch. We all knew that Oculus Go would have been launched at F8 and this has been the case. And not only online on Oculus website, but also on Amazon and Best Buy supermarkets : before the conference, lots of people started posting on Reddit the pictures of the Go being already inside Best Buy shopping centers.

It is a square one, so it seems that the system takes the undistorted view of one eye, exactly as the Oculus Go does when recording a video. This hand tracking is very rough, so do not expect a Leap Motion -type interface, but it can be good for some VR applications. Passenger Mode. Other news.

Here in Italy we were not used to celebrating it when I was a kid, but children now have fun dressing up and asking for some sweeties from their neighbors. Ultraleap (formerly Leap Motion) has just released the fifth version of its hands-tracking engine. Hello everyone and Happy Halloween to whoever celebrates it!
