The Unity Beta to develop for the Vision Pro is still not available, so many devs like me can’t even play with the emulator. Magic Leap flopped, HoloLens is dead, and even Nreal, with its affordable Light glasses, has not taken off. If you add VAT, in Italy it will cost €600. That’s a good amount of money.

Magic Leap One ), your brain kind of accept that you see augmentations only through the lens of the glasses and not in the peripheral vision, and so the limited FOV becomes more acceptable. On HoloLens 1, whatever Unity application I run had framerate problems, while here all Unity applications worked like a charm.

The very recent news, that Snap announced at AWE EU, is that Spectacles are also coming to Europe, and to be exact in Germany, France, Spain, Italy (yay!), I would say the glasses have probably more things in common with HoloLens 2 than Magic Leap 2 because of the constrained FOV and the visual artifacts.

I’ve preordered my basic $299 one (€349 in Italy) and it will arrive on October, 15th. I think the name ARIA is a mix of AR and AI , because the glass goes around collecting data for the AI, and since ARIA means also “air” in Italy, it can be a suggestion about the fact that it is used outside the lab.
