Ramping up for CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Lenovo has revealed their newest entry into the world of VR, a yet unnamed headset sporting an impressive dual 1440 × 1440 OLED displays, a PlayStation VR-style halo strap system, and dual cameras that allow for room-scale positional tracking.

From the photos it’s not exactly clear whether the headset makes use of waveguides like Microsoft HoloLens 2, or birdbath optics like Nreal Light. Before their official announcements, the user revealed Oculus Quest 2 , HP Reverb G2 and HoloLens 2. The headset’s near-eye optics sit behind the glass frame.

This hilarious tweet thread by Nima Zeighami shows you all the worst uses that have been of the M-word on the Las Vegas showroom. I’ve seen what companies are doing nowadays to use tracked props on the Oculus Quest: they have to add bulky mounts to install the even bulkier Touch controllers on them. Further references.
