We’re here in LasVegas, and will be visiting the Vrgineers/Somnium booth to gather our impressions. Unity, Unreal and other game engines plugins. SIMULATORS SUPPORT. Microsoft Windows. SOFTWARE SUPPORT. Steam VR and OpenXR drivers. C++ libraries (Direct X, OpenGL, Vulcan).
In a future update, Meta will use the tracking cameras to track the full body of the user and provide a decent estimation of the pose of the torso, the elbows, and the arms, and a simulated pose for the legs. Yes, the Quest 3 will be able to provide some sort of very rough full-body tracking , which is great for social VR experiences.
OpenXR has arrived at the first version of the standard, and now it has been implemented by all the major vendors : Microsoft has implemented it for HoloLens and WMR; Oculus for Rift and Quest; Valve has implemented it in SteamVR; etc… Talking about game engines, Unreal Engine now already offers it, while Unity is still lagging behind.
