It is still not perfect ( Leap Motion is still more accurate), but surely it is a step forward from the Oculus Touch. SteamVR Skeletal input will abstract the actual controller used by the player (Oculus Touch, Knuckles, Leap Motion, etc…), giving the developer the best pose of the hand detectable with the actually used sensor.

This is a super-important news that has not been stressed enough by magazines: Oculus has announced a complete overhaul of its business offering, in part for the good and in part for the bad. It now supports Oculus Quest, HTC Vive and UltraLeap (former Leap Motion) systems of skeletal hand tracking for interactions based on realistic, and customizable, hand poses. The Interaction Builder is built specifically for hands interaction, which makes the integration of hand tracking far easier. Don’t forget to give us your ?? !

This crazy team of devs succeeded in its purpose: the news was reported on all the major VR magazines , and I talked about it myself in one of my roundups. Playing around with the Leap Motion interaction system. But was it truly a success? How many copies have they sold? What are your future plans?

People like Eloi Gerard, Nikk Mitchell, Gianluigi Perrone, and many others that I know from the XR Story group on WeChat are all people worth meeting… and many of them were at this event. You may ask me how the event is big.

I’ve started reading reviews on the Oculus Go on my favorite magazines, that is Upload VR and Road To VR and I was surprised to read that both journalists expressed a quite negative opinion on the device. Markerless full body tracking : Oculus is now able to track completely your body using only the RGB camera of a phone.
