Oculus Connect 5 is taking place in a few days in SanJose, California on September 26-27th at the McEnery Convention Center. Last year, Oculus Go, a $199 standalone VR headset, has blown people’s minds. It seems Oculus plan to launch a higher-end mobile virtual reality headset for the masses.
I was at the SanJose newspaper at the time. I remember seeing the Oculus guys — Palmer Luckey and Nate Mitchell and Brendan (Iribe) over at one of their CES tables in the early years, well before they were acquired. And even the Oculus Quest is at $400, and they seem to be the $200 Oculus Go.
