MagicLeap’s computer vision headset is now on sale in cities across the U.S. startup MagicLeap unveiled its long-awaited mixed reality headset, a secretive device five years and $2.44B USD in the making. If developers use an API from one peripheral vendor, they need to learn a new API for each new device. Some accept a high-end gaming PC, while others prefer inexpensive Android machines. For those that want to design their own hardware, the OSVR goggle is a good reference design. MagicLeap is not commercial yet.
