The past week has been a pretty interesting one for the tech world: between Microsoft Ignite, Unity Unite, and the OpenAI drama, there has been a lot to follow. I’ll try to summarize all of that, especially for what concerns the announcements related to our XR space.
I’m sure that there will also be other offers announced in the next couple of days , so be sure to check out the main VR magazines and communities to stay up to date about them. As a Unity developer (also knowledgeable of VRChat), I’m not surprised at all, honestly. It looks like a good time to buy a new headset!
My article about Android XR granting permissions for the camera frames has earned me mentions in important magazines like Road To VR , Upload VR , and Android Authority ! Microsoft will still provide the Azure cloud, but all the hardware and software should be provided by Luckeys startup.
I thought that there could be nothing else to say in this roundup apart from the Connect, while actually, digging into the various XR magazines and social media feed, I have been able to find a lot of interesting little news, which I’m reporting to you. Mozilla updates its Unity WebVR exporter. Two years ago, I reviewed on this blog a Unity plugin that Mozilla had released in beta to let you create WebVR experiences from your Unity projects. Thanks to this exporter, every Unity developer can create a WebXR experience by just building the Unity project for HTML5!
