Like the first HoloLens the device also enables glasses wearers to simply slot the device in front of their spectacles (distinct advantage compared to Magic Leap). To do that, it had to pass the basic impact tests from several protective eyewear standards used in North America and Europe. CSA Z94.3, and EN 166.

The North-America-only limitation is quite a bummer for us Europeans, but honestly, as a developer, I understand the will of making an incremental deployment to be sure that everything works before expanding the product to many countries. Magic Leap rebrands and kills the whale. Ah, and you must be 18+ years old.
