They had some hype a few years ago, also because Magic Leap, in the beginning, hinted at the fact that it would have used them, but then they revealed themselves to be too unpractical for AR.

Strategy Analytics highlights in his survey that mobile headsets like Daydream, Gear VR and Cardboard are continuously losing importance and revenue shares.
