Motion capture If you want a cheap system for motion capture you can use Vive Trackers and full-body VR to record animations of yourself moving. Valve’s OpenVR was also incredibly well thought out , bringing with it an open ecosystem potentially compatible with many headsets and peripherals.

This is often why directors will throw their talent into massive green screen sets while wearing motion capture suits and leave it entirely up to their imagination. The only way the cast had a chance to understand where they were – we all had virtual reality Oculus* goggles.

While Oculus is getting all the glory for the Quest, its competitors are not sleeping. Huawei has upgraded its sleek VR glasses and now they support 6DOF movement and 6DOF controllers that are very similar to the Oculus Touch. Notwithstanding all this hate, the Oculus Quest 2 is selling very well. Other relevant news.

The Oculus Quest 2 continues its march towards mainstream adoption. It wouldn’t be a normal week without some news about Facebook and/or the Oculus Quest.
