Microsoft announced it’s planning to acquire Activision Blizzard for $68.7 Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says the studio will play a key role in the development of its future metaverse platforms. Xbox doesn’t feature any form of official VR compatibility, not even with its range of Microsoft Mixed Reality headsets.

Today I made two little big discoveries about the Oculus Quest 2 that together mean that you can use this headset as an AR device whenever and wherever you want. You could theoretically even make an experience whose play area is as big as the one of a city (Microsoft once talked about “city-scale VR”).

The following year it launched on Steam and the year after that, it was purchased by Microsoft in a bid to expand their mixed reality portfolio which has always been a kind of awkward collection. Initially, the purchase by Microsoft didn’t mark many major changes. You can’t customize it at all, and most of it isn’t very interactive.
