Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) researchers unveiled a prototype motion controller recently which showcases experimental techniques into full hand tracking using machine learning and capacitive sensors. Sony Corporation announced today that it will invest $250 million in Epic Games, the company well known for its hit game Fortnite and the Unreal Engine game engine that powers it. It’s the “convergence of gaming, film, and music” part which speaks to where the long-term synergies between Sony and Epic lie.

The first one comes from Google, and it is called Genie 2 , a foundation world model capable of generating an endless variety of action-controllable, playable 3D environments for training and evaluating embodied agents . The fact that it can be played by an agent is relevant to train AI agents in synthetic worlds.
